⁣ Roy is an oil prospector. His efforts to get drilling rights on an old Spanish land grant are countered by gamblers from an off-shore gambling boat determined to control the land (and oil) themselves.

⁣Pete Childers, a notorious killer, is assigned as a deputy to Sheriff Bob Hall. Hardy Keller, wanted for murder, is hiding on a ranch own by Bob's sweetheart, Helen Jones and her brother Fred. Childers is working with Farley, a crooked cattle dealer. After Childers wantonly shoots down the surrendering Kellar, Bob beats him up and fires him. Bob knows that Fred is on familiar terms with the rustlers, but Helen won't believe him and they quarrel.

The plot concerns a young newspaper editor who is conducting a campaign to unseat the town's "tinhorn mayor." The mayor is backed by a "gun-happy sheriff" and a "whiskey-soaked judge." The editor's campaign receives a boost when he is joined by a former Texas Ranger and "three of the fightin'-est straight shooters around."

⁣An undertaker and his two friends, who are restaurant owners, drum up business by going out on the town and killing people; the restaurant owners use parts of the bodies for their menu, and the undertaker gets paid by the families to bury the remainder. Their racket goes awry when 2 detectives suspect that something isn't quite kosher.

⁣Cisco tries to save the cabin boy of famed pirate Jean Lafitte--now a wizened old man--from the hands of an ancient old crone and her evil sons, who are after Lafitte's lost treasure.

⁣Andy and Betsy are tricked into giving medical aid to a wounded outlaw and this results in the whole group being taken hostage while the bullet is surgically removed.

⁣In the midst of some friendly horseplay on their “Flying R” ranch, the Range Busters, Crash Corrigan, Dusty King and Alibi Terhune, are sobered by the arrival of a buckboard bearing their old friend Larry Meadows and his niece Dorrie Willard. Meadows seeks their aid against a gang of outlaws terrorizing his town. Ernie Willard, Dorrie’s brother, has been taken in by Tex Laughlin who is using the Willard ranch as an undercover for his real occupation as a member of a gang of outlaws led by Tim Douglas, a supposed friend of the Willards.

⁣Chip has inherited a supposedly worthless gold mine from her father and Craig Allen is about to buy it.

⁣Dave O'Brien and Jim Newill star as Texas Rangers helping out the Wilkins, ranch owners fighting to keep their ranch from villains!

These new criminals have taken up the latest technologies to outsmart the authorities, including shortwave radios and airplanes! Can Gene and Smiley get ‘em? You bet! Songs include "The West Aint What It Used To Be," "I Got the Heebie­Jeebie Blues," and "The Defective Detective from Brooklyn." Gene also gets romantic when he sings, "I Picked up the Trail when I Found You..."

⁣Evil Indian Agent Richards is cheating the Indians into starvation. Gene shows that their raids are only for survival.
