⁣Dr. Carruthers (Bela Lugosi), bitter at being betrayed by his employers when they became rich as a result of his invention, attains revenge by electrically enlarging bats and sending them out to kill his employers' family members. Johnny Layton (Dave O'Brien), a reporter, finally figures out Carruthers is the killer and arranges for him to become a victim of the very menaces he created.

⁣Cowhand Ken Clark is stranded in Chicago, and temporarily takes a job as a sharp-shooter entertainer in a night club, with the intention of getting enough money together to get back to his beloved Arizona. Frank Gordon, while drunk, is about to be rolled by the club bouncer, but Ken interferes and earns Clark's gratitude. Gordon gets a telegram from Kay Burke, the daughter of his partner in Arizona, notifying him that her father, Jim Burke, has been killed by rustlers. The ranch has a U.S. Army contract to furnish horses, but she sees little hope of being able to make good because the stock is being rustled, and she asks Gordon for his help. The latter is persuaded by Ken to answer her call for help, but Gordon insists that Ken accompany him, and also take his place as his substitute. Ken agrees. He soon discovers that the problems lie with a ranch employee that has been aiding the rustlers.

⁣Marshal Bob Marlow arrives in Apache City posing as a dude. The six Tolliver brothers are running wild and when Bob fights with two of them they accidentally shoot each other. Then a third brother goes after him and is accidentally shot when they fight. When Bob's identity is revealed, the other three and the rest of the gang rob the bank and flee. No longer a dude, Bob organizes a posse to go after them.

The ersatz doctor turns the tables on her by manipulating her into fighting with his estranged wife, Alice Maxwell, a former showgirl. When the cat-breeding neighbor Goof sees what's going on, he calls the police, who stop the fight and, following the sound of Satan the cat, find the body of the real doctor hidden behind a brick wall.

To impress Mr. Higgins and his family, Lucy and Mr. Mooney set up a hoe-down in the bank after it closes that evening...and Lucy decides to dress down to pose as Mrs. Mooney.

It is also known as Young Paul Baroni in the United Kingdom and is noted for being an early film appearance for Leonard Nimoy, who would become famous for his role as Spock on the TV series Star Trek.
