⁣In antebellum New Orleans, two men vie for the affections of a beautiful young girl during Mardi Gras.

⁣Jack rides into trouble when he meets up with Bill Meeker and his outlaw gang. Rescued from the gang's clutches by Don Carlos, he joins forces with Carlos and with the help of Lolita who learns of the gang's next raid, they go after the culprits.

⁣Denby wants the Wilson ranch for the oil he knows is there. After killing Wilson his men waylay Bret Travis who has become a half owner along with Judy Wilson. After Alibi finds the wounded Travis, he overhears Denby introduce another man as Bret Travis. The Range Busters then go into action under assumed names but are in trouble when their true identities become known.

They marry and he tries farming again but, on the night their son is born, he takes off again searching for gold. This time he heads for the hills with an inveterate prospector, Jimmo McCann. A decade later, the two are still hunting for their big strike when McCann is killed in an accident. Powell returns home with news of a big strike but the deserted Julie will have nothing to do with him. His friend Killian will not believe him but Haver, now a banker gives him a small loan and then beats him out of his claim. Many years pass before he comes home, now sixty-years-old, and this time, his wife and son open their home to him. But he vows to go prospecting come next spring.

⁣The story begins as siblings Barbra (Judith O'Dea) and Johnny (Russell Streiner) drive to rural Pennsylvania to visit their father's grave where they are violently attacked by a strange man (Bill Hinzman). Johnny tries to rescue his sister, but is killed after he falls and cracks his head on a gravestone. Barbra flees, with the killer in pursuit; eventually to an empty farmhouse where to her horror she discovers a half-eaten woman's corpse. Running out of the house, she notices several menacing figures akin to her pursuer; whereupon a man named Ben (Duane Jones) arrives in a car and takes her inside the house.

⁣Dusty and Callahan are arrested when a Calvary officer accuses them of stealing an army payroll.

⁣Fury keeps running off to be with a white mare. Joey gets in trouble when he tries to solve the relationship.

⁣Gabby tells a tall tale about a Long Rope, then shares scenes from a Bob Steele western.

⁣After saving himself from hanging, Laramie Nelson saves Tracks Williams from the same fate. They then travel to Lindsay's ranch where they get jobs. There they run into Adams who they learn is planning to rustle Lindsay's horses.

⁣When cowboy star Tom Ford disappears, Wilson gets his double Gene Autry to impersonate him. But Ford owes gangster Rico $10,000 and Rico arrives to collect. He fails to get the money but learns that Autry is an impersonator and now blackmails Wilson and his movie studio.
